Vilde Rudjord

"The Consequence of Becoming a Witch" er en reise som prøver å finne ut  hva det innebærer å være en heks i dagens samfunn. Kunstnerne har samlet materialer og laget kunstverk for å utforske fordeler og ulemper som kan følge med en slik forskning. Er det mulig å skape alternative livsstiler i en verden styrt av regler og normer? Å bli en heks handler like mye om å innta en rolle som å dekonstruere sitt eget jeg og omfavne indre fantasier og refleksjoner. Det handler om strebe etter frihet i en ufri verden.

Prosjektet ble utviklet i oktober 2023 i forbindelse med en felles kunstnerresidens på Mark Rothko-museet i Daugavpils, Latvia. Det stammer fra en felles interesse for kunnskapsutveksling, utforskning og stimulering av kunstnernes individuelle praksiser, tankesett og kulturer. I denne utstillingen på i november 2023 Grenseløs viste vi verker fra oppholdet.

Polina Mihajlovna Chernitskaya (f.1996) är en multimedia konstnär baserad på Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder i Trondheim. Konstnärskapet karakteriseras av mixed-media installation, prosa och måleri och betonar teman traumahantering, tillhörighet och existentiell reflektion. Cheritskaya har MFA (2022) och BFA (2020) från Kunstakademiet i Trondheim. 

Vilde Rudjord (f.1995) er en billedkunstner som hovedsakelig arbeider med oljemaleri og installasjon. Med en leken fargepalett utforsker hun allegorier, omfavner det groteske og leter etter tapte tider. Rudjord har MFA (2022) og BFA (2020) fra Kunstakademiet i Trondheim. Rudjord bor og virker for tiden i Risør. 

 "The Consequence of Becoming a Witch" is a journey that tries to find out what it means to be a witch in today's society. The artists have collected materials and created works of art to explore the advantages and disadvantages that can come with such research. Is it possible to create alternative lifestyles in a world governed by rules and norms? Becoming a witch is as much about taking on a role as deconstructing one's self and embracing inner fantasies and reflections. It is about striving for freedom in an unfree world.

The project was developed in October 2023 in connection with a joint artist residency at the Mark Rothko Museum in Daugavpils, Latvia. It stems from a common interest in knowledge exchange, exploration and stimulation of the artists' individual practices, mindsets and cultures. In this exhibition during November 2023 at Grenseløs, we showed artworks from the residency.

Polina Mihajlovna Chernitskaya (b.1996) is a multimedia artist based at Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder in Trondheim. The artwork is characterized by mixed-media installation, prose and painting and emphasizes the themes of trauma handling, belonging and existential reflection. Chernitskaya holds a MFA (2022) and a BFA (2020) from Trondheim Academy of Fine Art.

Vilde Rudjord (b.1995) is a visual artist who mainly works with oil painting and installation. With a playful color palette, she explores allegories, embraces the grotesque and searches for lost times. Rudjord holds a MFA (2022) and a BFA (2020) from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art. Rudjord currently lives and works in Risør.
